Back in 2004, while we were getting closer to our referral for Sarah, my Dad ended up having open heart surgery just months before we left for China. We were grateful that his surgery had gone well and that he was recovered well enough to help my mom take care of the oldest 3 for part of that trip. Well tonight, my dad was admitted to the hospital for an infection in his leg. He'll be on antibiotic IV and will hopefully be home on Tuesday. We're glad that they figured out what the problem is and that it did not become too serious. We've been able to scramble to find someone else to help take us to the airport (thanks Cindy!!) and friends have been great to step up and let Nathan stay with them if necessary. So the prayer is that the antibiotic will work, that Dad will be a good patient and not go stir crazy and that all the details will work themselves out with limited stress for all involved (especially for my mom!).
We are also continuing to pray for Caleb. We have been told that he is terrified of strangers and loud noises (and do you know a louder or stranger family than ours?!). We are quite concerned about next week at this time and are praying for God's supernatural peace in our little boy.
So the next couple of days will be full of hospital visits, finalizing all those last minute details and continuing prayer for our trip and Caleb's transition to being a Weikel. Thank you to all of you who have already been praying - keep it coming :)

I think it will be a big help that you are taking the kids with you. Babies usually love kids that are a little older than them. I will and have been keeping you in my prayers.
